Time to hang out with our 8th-grade buddies. Everyone participates in picking up trash in our school garden.Students learn about trees, what they are used for and why they are an important natural resource. The activity of turning and talking with a partner provides an opportunity for students to learn how to participate in back and forth dialogue. Hair of the Week award goes to Christian!

Students learn about natural and people-made resources. Cutting out pictures from magazines helps first-graders identify and categorize the different resources. It's not always easy to exhibit self-discipline, especially for young students. Charlie earns DGS's Self-Discipline Award for being a role model to others. Alexi receives an award for Resourcefulness. Giving students extra support can be fun. Making letters of the alphabet from various materials helps students master names and sounds.
